Receive food donations!
If you’re a social welfare organisation, you can register on the SavingFood platform and let us know what type of food you need to help the people you support. We will share with you on the platform donations that match your food needs and are close to your location. The only thing you need to do is to confirm your team’s availability to collect the food donation at the designated time and place. Donations can be collected from local food stores, such as bakeries, supermarkets and pastry shops and also from nearby farmers markets or gleaning events organised through the help of our volunteers.
- Some frequently asked questions (FAQs):
What are the liabilities as a food recipient?
As you do with all the food, you are called to handle donated food safely, you need to take care of transport conditions, proper storage and prompt distribution to the people you support.
Is someone moderating the SavingFood platform?
Yes, the platform is moderated by a local food rescue organisation that makes the perfect match between the food offer and the needs of a recipient organisation. The coordinator ensures that a fair food redistribution process is set up among charities according to their actual needs, and will make sure that at the end of the day the food offer is at its final destination.

Can I also join in one of the food saving activities as a volunteer?
Yes, of course! If your organisation is interested to be a volunteer in one of our food saving events, then take a look to our local gleaning and farmer market events.
